国际教育学院（School of International Studies,简称SIS）成立于2012年1月，建有1个院级重点建设的“高职应用外语”专业群、“3D模拟导游实训室”、口语实训室、商务谈判与函电实训室、语言综合实训室等，携手苏州市地标名企“同程旅游”（LY.com）共建企业学院“同程国际学院”、深度合作育人，与苏州恒润进出口有限公司、丰武光电（苏州）有限公司、吴宫-泛太平洋（苏州）、“创元”旗下的书香集团等知名企业深度合作，“冠名式”和“订单式”共育一线蓝领。 N49WU5-6dd8?8o
现有教师47人、外教1人，承担着全院高职英语教育教学和专业群育人工作。其中，享受国务院特殊津贴专家和教授1人、副教授8人、博士（含在读）3人、硕士及在读36人，参加过海外学习交流者15人，“双师”占比90%。2012年以来36位学生在省级及以上专业技能大赛中获奖，仅2014届和2015届毕业生中就有78人转本升学。 V3:9OS3+,Um,?5y
现开设商务英语（国际贸易和行政管理2个方向）、旅游英语（旅行社导游专业和涉外酒店管理和服务2个方向）、商务日语（商贸方向）等3个专业，在校企合作育人中逐步凝练“厚基础、强技能、宽口径、国际视野”的专业文化，74.5%的毕业生留在苏州就业创业。 i4;6Vx9;8Lm6.9n
商务英语专业，2003年开始招生，与“苏州恒润进出口有限公司”、“同程旅游”、“乔治费歇尔汽车用品（苏州）有限公司”、“苏州佳鼎工艺绣品有限公司“、“吴宫-泛太平洋（苏州）”、“港中旅维景”和“苏州独墅湖世尊酒店”等开展冠名和订单式合作育人。国际贸易方面，主要培养用英语获取并交流产品推介、商务函电写作、商务接待与洽谈、商务合同执行等方面的能力，能胜任外贸业务类岗位的高素质技术技能人才。行政管理方向，主要培养具备在英语环境下进行日常办公、文档管理、活动组织与实施、人事与后勤管理、部门沟通协调等行政管理能力，能胜任外企和涉外公司企业行政文员等岗位的高素质技术技能人才。 D15oB4=8GH8!5s
旅游英语专业，2014年开始招生，与“同程旅游”、“创元”旗下的“书香”集团、苏州和平国旅、八爪鱼在线旅游等，冠名或订单式地合作育人。其中，旅行社导游方向主要培养具备中英文导游带团能力，中英文景区讲解能力，实体及在线旅游公司客户沟通能力、计划调度能力，胜任中英文导游、出境游顾问等岗位群的高素质技术技能人才。涉外酒店方向，主要培养具备涉外酒店服务能力、酒店基层管理能力，胜任涉外酒店前厅、餐饮、客房等部门的服务员、领班、部门主管等岗位群的高素质技术技能人才。 j2?1ic4?5qi7~7q

The School of International Studies (SIS), a secondary college of Suzhou Institute of Industrial Technology, was established under the guidance of the international education principle in January, 2012. Besides enhancing students’ overall proficiency of foreign languages and carrying out international education exchange projects, SIE has also been committed to cultivating talents with both languages and professional skills. c7:9gM1-6vF5+9e
With 48 faculty members at present, one English foreign tutor and one Japanese foreign tutor, SIE has been undertaking the teaching tasks of specialized foreign language courses as well as the college English course of the whole institute. Among all its full-time teachers, there are 2 PhD, 36 with MA or master-degree candidates, and 13 with oversea exchange experiences. There are 2 professors and 8 associate professors and 34 lecturers. The number of teaching staff who have obtained intermediate or senior titles accounts for 93.2% of the total. v2.5aW,+1lt1+3e
SIE consists of two majors, which are Business English and Business Japanese. The former is divided into international trade direction and foreign secretary direction while the latter focuses on service outsourcing to Japan. In general, the training goal of business English is to foster students’ ability to communicate in good English. The target of international trade direction is to cultivate students’ skills in carrying on foreign commerce, customs clearance, international settlement, etc. While the training aim for students of foreign secretary direction is to be equipped with skills to deal with foreign business and to serve as administrative assistants, foreign secretaries and so on. Business Japanese major has been established to cultivate students who are capable of conducting secretarial and documentary work in Japanese companies as well as to enhance students’ competence in translation.
